Missed Telethon? You can support the Free Care Fund year-round!
Every year, our generous donors come together to support the Free Care Fund. This year is extra-special because we’re in the midst of the largest fundraising campaign in UPMC Children’s history, called This Moment. Every dollar counts in this campaign and donations to the Free Care Fund are a huge part of this effort.
Parents with a sick child face so many worries — affording their children’s care should not be one of them. Each year more than 35,000 children and families struggle to cover costs associated with care. Thanks to the generosity of donors, for more than 70 years the Free Care Fund has helped to cover the cost of free and uncompensated services for every child who needs the expert and compassionate care of UPMC Children’s, but whose family cannot afford it.
About Free Care
When UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh opened its doors in 1890, its mission was to provide care to sick and injured children regardless of their family’s ability to pay. 130 years later, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh maintains this commitment of care for our region’s children.
